I followed Jean Greenhowe's Little Gift Dolls booklet. The best pattern I encountered was Jean Greenhowe's, it's easy to follow and I understand most of her terms and instructions.
Today, I finished knitting this cool looking super kid! I decided to replace the letter S with R since my nephew asked me to make it for him. Say hello to Super Rock! Sabay kanta ng LMFAO Party Rock - Super Rock is in the house tonight... hehehe I love singing that song whenever my nephew visits us.

Five days ago I received a message. It was a simple message asking for Joaquin's birthday and her daughter will be celebrating her birthday on the 8th of July.
I suddenly had an idea to knit a toy for Sophia, that same day I started knitting, sewing, stuffing... finally after five days of excitement, procrastination and determination I finished it! Pattern derived from Jean Greenhowe's Mascot Dolls. My siblings started telling their kids about the tooth fairy. From what I heard, fantasy world is a great place and you would want your kids to learn and believe such places and characters exist. By doing that you are creating a wonderful childhood experience for your kid. I needed a way to motivate my nephew to study so I told them (including his younger sister) about a particular fairy called rewards fairy. So far my plan worked. The story is very simple, for kids who study well and behave, the Rewards Fairy will give them rewards. Well I thought this is only for kids but after giving my nephews and niece their rewards... I saw an envelop on my desk it says from Fairy Godmother Fely Ocampo... Wow I am 200 USD richer! Yahoo!!! So I was inspired to knit her this as a thank you gift... I followed Jean Greenhowe's Little Gift Doll pattern booklet. I hope she likes it! *(^.^)*
I learned how to knit when I was 10 years old. In our school most kids know how to crochet and/or knit. One of the projects in our school was to make a muffler. Most of my classmates made crochet mufflers, however since our teacher did not teach us how to knit or crochet (perhaps she assumed all her students know how to knit or crochet, I wonder why? because we live in Baguio???) I asked my eldest sister to teach me, she knows knitting than crocheting so she taught me how to knit... literally knit stitch only (well, cast on and knit stitch - no purl and cast off)! Years passed (like 16 years?), I forgot all about knitting until my sister who taught me how to knit went back in the Philippines and I saw her knitting needles. I got inspired and started to learn how to knit. With her help and watching YouTube videos I learned the basics of knitting. Now that I have developed my knitting skill, I think I am ready to post most of my hand knitted toys... but here are some of the toys I knitted in the past. |
Hi there! Here are some of the Little Treasures I made. I am blessed with two great hands for knitting delightful toys. I would like to explore other crafts so join me in my journey in creating anything handmade. Categories
